Smart Bathroom Remolding

If you are planning on redesigning your bathroom than you most likely have a picture in your mind of exactly how you want it to look. However, you shouldn’t get your heart set on any bathroom look too soon into the redesign stage because depending on factors such as your bathroom size, you may need to reconsider some of your ideas. A great way to avoid obstacles when remolding is to educate yourself on different bathroom materials and designs.

Know your materials

Vanity bases and Countertops: The material choices for these structures include ceramic, fiberglass, glass, stainless steel, chrome, porcelain, brass, wood, laminate, wicker, and stone. The best vanity tops are made from granite stone. Although expensive, granite lasts longer than most other materials, and maintains its colors over time. Granite is also the easiest material to wipe away harmful bacteria’s.

Tiles: Material used for bathroom tiles are glass, porcelain, and ceramic. These materials tend to last longer, and have a better reputation for durability. Stone tiles don’t hold up in high moisture areas, like a bathroom.

Decide on designs

Sinks: The sink is the focus of any bathroom vanity counter top and the most used and important installation. Types of vanity sink designs and styles include vessel, framed, drop-in, and under mounted sinks. Vessel sinks are at the height of their popularity and are more modern in design.

Types of tile include stone, porcelain, mosaics, and ceramic. Remember tiling is permanent, so if you’re not completely confident in placing the bath tile yourself, then it would be a better idea to hire a professional contractor. It’s less trouble and less expensive to hire someone first, than do the job yourself and have to hire someone to fix it.

*Before deciding on any material or designs it is always best to consult with your contractor first because they can offer a better insight on what will work best in your available space.

Consider a new bathroom vanity for your home remodeling project

Some people look at a bathroom and only see a utilitarian room where you meet your basic bodily needs; but a bathroom can be developed into an amazing room where you can relax and create a peaceful and beautiful environment. Choosing the right vanities for your bathroom can set the tone perfectly for the rest of the designs based off of it. For example, a modern bathroom vanity with black colors and metallic parts and pieces can make the bathroom have a futuristic and trendy flair; couple that together with black and white tile, a shower stall lined with dark colored granite and you have a masterpiece in the works. Also take into consideration your natural surroundings, the area you live in and the opinions of others to create a bathroom that will perfectly fit your home.
There are some bathroom vanity and vanity cabinet designers who create wonderful works of art, and create an opulent and elegant look inside your home. A bathroom does not have to function as just a basic sort of commode; redesigning your bathroom not only leads to more satisfaction for yourself, but can increase the value of your home by thousands of dollars. Consider adding new bathroom vanities and making other changes for your next home remodeling project.
